The Inwir was the royal clan of the Teleri, according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales. They were the kindred, or house, of Inwë.[1]
Etymology
The name Inwir is in Qenya, meaning the "kindred of Inwë" according to Paul Strack.[2]
Its Gnomish cognate was Imrim, also appearing as Imrin, and it contains the plural suffix -rim.[3][4]
