Inthavros was the "forest palace" of Tavros, the chief wood-fay, according to the early version of the legendarium associated with The Book of Lost Tales.[1]

The name Inthavros is in Gnomish. It consists of the element in- ("house of") and the proper name Tavros.[2]

An earlier name for the place was Intavros.[1]
