Nevill Coghill

Nevill Henry Kendal Aylmer Coghill (19 April 1899-6 November 1980) was a fellow Inkling with J.R.R. Tolkien. He published a famous translation of the Canterbury Tales.
Soon after the publication of the Fellowship of the Ring, Coghill wrote to Tolkien asking some explanations about the story; Tolkien replied in a letter (21 August 1954) that some things should be left until the later volumes of The Lord of the Rings appeared.
