- "Faithful servant yet master's bane,
Lightfoot's foal, swift Snowmane"
- ― Carved upon the stone in Snowmane's Howe
Snowmane's Howe was the place on the Pelennor Fields where the horse of King Théoden, Snowmane, fell and was subsequently buried by the Rohirrim. Upon that hollow, a stone was erected and there the grass grew the most green and long ever after.
