"Irimë may have been the mother of Aranwë, who was in turn the father of Voronwë." From what source is this conclusion taken? I need this information for a work about Írime, and I cannot find any information about a link between her and Aranwe. --Beren_fox 19:55, 30 January 2007 (EST)

I think it just comes from that Voronwë was a priveliged elf whose deeds ultimately resulted in the return of Fingolfin's remaining descendants. Other propositions for Irimë's descendants are one or more of the chiefs of the Twelve Houses of the Gondothlim, due to their rank. Especially Galdor of the Tree, Glorfindel of the Golden Flower, and Ecthelion of the Fountain, because they were described as the noblest elves of Gondolin next to Turgon. --Narfil Palùrfalas 17:43, 30 January 2007 (EST)

I didn't add it - I was just guessing the reason. Hyarion copied it from the Wikipedia article, and looking at its history this theory came from there. It's still in the Wikipedia article today. This article is almost unchanged since the move: notice especially how it refers to both Irimë and Findis, as the Wikipedia article combines the two. --Narfil Palùrfalas 20:52, 30 January 2007 (EST)

Aranwë was of the House of Fingolfin. Fingon and Argon hadn't wifes. Turgon had only one child. Aredhel had only one child, Maeglin. Findis' childeren stayd in Aman. Finrod had no child. Aegnor had no wife. Galadriel had only one child. There were only three royal Ñoldor who went in excile (Idril, Celebrimbor and Orodreth). Eldálotë went not in excile, Aranwë was not Angrod's son. Írimë / Irimë

In The History of Middle-earth the name is always Írimë, not Irimë, thus should be corrected, shouldn't it? --Tik 09:06, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

Move to 'Lalwen'?

I propose that we rename the article to 'Lalwen', since:

1) Tolkien explicitly stated that 'Lalwen' was the name by which the character was most known by

2) Irime/Lalwen followed Fingolfin into exile, and it is said that the Sindar also accepted the name 'Lalwen' since the form of the name fit nicely within Sindarin
