The Hobbit 50th Anniversary is a commemorative booklet released to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of The Hobbit. It looks at the making of the book, J.R.R. Tolkien's designs for the dust jacket and its success when it was published. The booklet includes one black and white photo and some illustrations.
Included are extracts from several of Tolkien's letters to George Allen & Unwin:
- Quotes from a letter to Charles Furth dated 25 April 1937 (p. 5).
- Reproduces the second page and quotes from a letter to Charles Furth dated 19 December 1937 (p. 10).
- Brief quotes from letters included in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.[1]
