The Tolkien Index is a not-for-profit website which aims to produce a comprehensive index of names from writings by J.R.R. Tolkien (and associated editorial matter) on Middle-earth which do not already have an index.[1] Morgan Thomsen is the owner and main contributor of the website, whilst Daniel Helen is its webmaster.[2] It was founded on 24 June, 2011.[3]
Reception
Noting the website Tolkien Index in November 2011, Tolkien Transactions, an on-line review journal, wrote: "[t]rusting that the authors will continue the work, this promises to be a very valuable index resource".[4]
