Findis was a Noldorin Elf. She was the first child and daughter of Finwë, the King of the Noldor, and Indis, his second wife.
She did not follow the Noldor into exile, instead abiding amongst the Vanyar with her mother.[1]
It is stated that they were in grief until Manwë deemed to restore Finwë to life,[1] but that he may not have, as little is actually known of what occurred in Aman following the departure of the Noldor.[2]
Etymology
Her name was a combination of her parents' names.[1]
