Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Gamling readies Théoden for battle, helping him put on his armour. As he does so, he reassures the king that the men of Rohan will follow him, no matter what. The scene is interspersed with a montage of other shots, including the Uruk-hai marching towards Helm's Deep, and men and boys of Rohan readying themselves for war.
The days have gone down in the west ... behind the hills ... into Shadow. How did it come to this?
—Théoden
