Bablon
From Tolkien Gateway
Bablon was a city of Men in the Great Lands, according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales. It was identified with the city of Babylon.[1]
The city was mentioned in the tale of the Fall of Gondolin by Littleheart, where he compared its fall as even being worse than Bablon's.[2]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The name Bablon is in Gnomish, but its meaning is unclear. However, it was probably a phonological imitation of Babylon.[1]
