Forelithe, or Lithe in Bree, was the sixth month of the Shire Calendar, lying between Thrimidge and the midsummer Lithedays, and approximately corresponding to modern 22 May through 20 June.

Etymology

The name represents a modernization of the Old English name for June, Æ'rra Líþa meaning "before lithe".
