La Feuille de la Compagnie, vol.1, Cahier d'études tolkieniennes is an issue of the French journal La Feuille de la Compagnie.
From the publisher[edit | edit source]
La Feuille de la Compagnie (named in memory of Tolkien's text, Leaf, by Niggle, which underlines the interest of detailed works, contributing to the common enrichment) aims to promote the intelligence of the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. The main tasks that it proposes to fulfill are the following: First of all (Section 'Dossiers'), present materials, in the form of files, allowing each one to deepen the study of an aspect of the work. Then follow (Section 'Articles') the studies themselves, i.e. the writing of articles on Tolkien, the publication of proceedings of conferences devoted to Tolkien, the publication of translations of essential articles or book chapters. Finally (Section 'Reports'), downstream of this study work, a task seems to us to be essential for the information of the French-speaking public by proposing reviews or precise reports of important works (in particular in English).[note 1]

- ↑ [Original text:]La Feuille de la Compagnie (intitulée ainsi en souvenir du texte de Tolkien, Feuille, de Niggle, qui souligne l'intérêt des travaux détaillés, contribuant à l’enrichissement commun) a pour but de promouvoir l’intelligence de l’œuvre de J.R.R. Tolkien. Les tâches principales qu’elle se propose de remplir sont les suivantes : Tout d’abord (Rubrique ‘Dossiers’), présenter des matériaux, sous forme de dossiers, permettant à chacun d’approfondir l’étude d’un aspect de l’œuvre. Suivent ensuite (Rubrique ‘Articles’) les études proprement dites, soit la rédaction d’articles sur Tolkien, la publication d’actes de colloques consacrés à Tolkien, la publication de traductions d’articles ou de chapitres de livre essentiels. Enfin (Rubrique ‘Comptes rendus’), en aval de ce travail d’étude, une tâche nous semble s’imposer pour l’information du public francophone en proposant des recensions ou comptes rendus précis de travaux importants (notamment de langue anglaise).
