On 26 September 1947, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a letter to Jennifer Brookes-Smith.[note 1][1][2]
- Subject: Signing the letter "Uncle Ronald", Tolkien offers advice about Oxford colleges, and discusses misprints in The Hobbit, the development of runes, and the various editions of The Hobbit.[2] Tolkien also expresses a dissatisfaction with Allen & Unwin.[3]
