Jarvis's long acting career has included the role of Jon Forsyte in the critically acclaimed miniseries The Forsyte Saga and the title character in Dickens's Nicholas Nickleby. Many roles followed on stage, screen, and radio. He also served as storyteller on Jackanory for six episodes.
