Osgiliath (scene) is the forty-fourth of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and the fifty-fifth scene of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (extended edition).
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Faramir takes his time to consider what Frodo said before deciding to continue forwards to Osgiliath. The scene ends with Frodo pleading with him to be let go.
Differences[edit | edit source]
In the book, Faramir did not take Frodo and Sam to Osgiliath. When he discovered Frodo was carrying the Ring, he told the two hobbits he would not try to take it, and parted with them at Henneth Annûn, where they went towards the Morgul Vale.
