Trui was a city of Men in the Great Lands, according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales. It was identified with the city of Troy.[1]

The city was mentioned in the tale of the Fall of Gondolin by Littleheart, where he compared its fall as even being worse than Trui's.[2]

Etymology

The name Trui is in Gnomish, according to Paul Strack, but its meaning is unclear.[3] However, it was probably a phonological imitation of Troy.
