Rewriting pages
Hey, I noticed there are headings above some articles saying that the page needs to be rewritten. I’d love to try and help, but I’m not really sure what that means. Is it just fixing grammatical errors and helping the overall clarity and cohesion, or does that tag also mean that there are incorrect facts in the page or something like that? I rewrote the page about Bilbo’s party and removed the rewrite tag, but then I realized that, since I haven’t done this before, I might have done something wrong. I’d appreciate it if you could take a look at my edit and let me know if that was what was needed! It would be great :) Thingol (talk) 21:39, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Spotify Plugin Appearance
Hello sir! Is there anything we can do about the Spotify plugin's appearance? It's an awesome feature, but the white parts appearing against the regular background stick out like a sore thumb. See my sandbox for some visual references. Theolaa (talk) 07:15, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
Deletion notice

Hello there
Don't know if you remember me - I left this site sometime ago - I'm the guy with YouTube channel. Thank you very much for your words on Mitth's page. And I appreciate your subscription. I've actually went on ahead and started the channel this year! I'm pretty pleased with my latest work even though I still feel there are parts that require improvement. I can't say it's a very successful channel - people who support me are kind of just some of the friends that are interested in Tolkien's legendarium (unfortunately there's not a great many of them), but regardless, I'm still working on it. I just like talking about Middle-earth, even if it's just a few people who listen to me. I grew up with PJ's films and began picking up Tolkien's books themselves (starting with The Hobbit) when I was 6 :)) If you have any suggestions, either content-wise or to improve something, I'd welcome it. I've actually changed the channel (the older one you're subscribed to is the secondary one now) - it's The Great Wanderer of Middle-earth now (though I may change the name). - Congratulations on starting the channel! You now have 16% more subscribers :) It takes a lot of dedication and perseverance to start a new YouTube channel so don't be deterred if it takes a while to grow. I'll definitely check out some videos this weekend. I wonder if the cover photo could be something with your logo on it for branding purposes. Feel free to use any content on TG to create your videos, there's a lot of people who prefer to watch/listen to lore rather than reading articles so I think you have the right idea. French interwiki links
Hi! I just noticed that the general page link to the French wiki does not seem to be entirely correct anymore. It's still working, but I think that it should be https://www.tolkiendil.com/ now, without the "doku.php?id=".
For example, the current link to the main page is: https://www.tolkiendil.com/doku.php?id=encyclo
However, when clicking on Index on the site itself, the adress for the main page appears as: https://www.tolkiendil.com/encyclo

- Hi Smeagol! I hope all is going well over there. Thanks for reaching out, as AI can definitely be a controversial topic. Our current Help:Images#AI_art_policy forbids images that have been purely generated from an AI system. But like you mention, where do we draw the line when it comes to editing? Many basic Photoshop features can likely be considered AI, and isn't taking a picture on a cell phone using an algorithm/AI to process the image? Unfortunately I don't have a concrete answer.
- Maybe you can upload an example of what you have in mind and we can see if anyone has any concerns? I think the idea is more about protecting talented hard-working artists such as yourself, not restricting creative tools they can use to polish their work. Hyarion (talk) 18:48, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

Request to Add Arabic Language Support to Tolkien Gateway
I would like to express my appreciation for the incredible work you have done in building Tolkien Gateway. It is truly one of the most valuable resources for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendarium.
I am writing to kindly request the addition of Arabic language support to the website. There is a large and passionate Arabic-speaking community that deeply loves Tolkien’s world, yet many face difficulty accessing detailed content due to the language barrier.
Providing Arabic support would greatly expand the reach of Tolkien Gateway and allow more fans to explore and engage with this rich universe in their native language.
As a devoted fan myself, I often find it challenging to fully understand the depth of the lore when reading in a non-native language.

Usage of maps/images outside TolkienGateway
Hi. I have a question regarding the use of maps and images I have placed on TolkienGateway, and for which you have placed a fitting licensing template-tag. Are there issues surrounding people using this material outside TolkienGateway, especially for derivative depictions, such as colorisations?
