The Elf-fathers were the three male Eru-begotten Elves who awoke at Cuiviénen and then formed the Three Clans. Imin, Tata, and Enel were their names which translate to "One", "Two", and "Three" respectively. Their followers were thus named Minyar (Firsts), Tatyar (Seconds), and Nelyar (Thirds). Their wives were (respectively) Iminyë, Tatië, and Enelyë.[1]
