Falmaríni were the male sea-fays,[1][2] according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales.
They arrived to the world with Ossë and Ónen, along with some other types of fays.[3]
Etymology
The name Falmaríni is in Qenya, being the plural of falmarin ("sea-fay; spirit of the sea foam"). It probably consists of the elements falma ("foam, wave") + the noun suffix -rin.[4]
