Pelloini were most likely the fays of towns or hedged fields, according to the early version of the legendarium associated with The Book of Lost Tales.[1]
Etymology
The name Pelloini is in Qenya, probably being related to the word pelle ("town").[1] Both pelle and pelto ("hedge, hedged field") are derived from the root PELE ("fence in").[2]
