Snakes, sometimes referred to as serpents, were reptilian creatures, often associated with the forces of darkness, and especially with the Dark Lords.

Other names[edit]

In Quenya, "snake" is ango or lókë. Sindarin has lhûg.

Other versions of the legendarium[edit]

In Gnomish, lingos means "snake" and ling means "small snake".[1]
