(Redirected from Third Age 3022)

Fourth Age 1 (abbreviated to Fo.A. 1 or F.O.) is the 1st year of the Sun of the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. Unless otherwise stated, Tolkien Gateway follows Shire usage in Appendix B for reckoning Fourth Age years: Fourth Age 1 was also known as S.R. 1422 in Shire-reckoning.

Notable events in this year include:*The beginning of the Fourth Age in the reckoning of the Shire.[1]

Note

In the reckoning of Gondor, Fourth Age 1 began on 25 March of Third Age 3021.[3]

Notes

  1. This date for Eldarion's birth is still uncertain, since the text from which it derives puts the date of his death on Fo.A. 125 and was written by Tolkien in 1959 thus predating the second edition of The Lord of the Rings, where Tolkien ultimately changed the date of Aragorn's death from Fo.A. 100 to Fo.A. 120.
