- 20 January 1912 - Vincent Trought dies. He had been severely ill since the autumn.
- 25 December 1914 - A meeting is held in London.
- 25 September 1915 - The Big Four - Tolkien, Smith, Wiseman and Gilson - have their last meeting.
- 1 July 1916 - Killed by a shell on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
- 22 July 1916 - Ralph "the Baby" Payton is killed in action.
- 3 December 1916 - Geoffrey Bache Smith dies, having been hit by shrapnel four days earlier.
- 31 July 1917 - Thomas Kenneth "Tea Cake" Barnsley is killed in action near Ypres while consoling a captured prisoner.
- 1 February 1969 - Sidney Barrowclough dies.
- 25 July 1987 - Christopher Wiseman dies.
Current templates, that often leads to the misidentification of the start of the First Age with the rising of the sun:
Template where F.A. is just replaced with Y.S. - This would only require a straight forward edit of the {{FA|#}} template, or a bot to replace all links from that to a new {{YS|#}} template.
This template does not mention the First Age, which removes the misidentification of the start of the First Age, but does not inform the reader of which Age they are looking at:
Template where First Age starts at what is currently listed as Y.T. 1050, but with sup-text that shows the change in 'year type'. This template requires changing all links to pages between Y.T. 1050 and Y.T. 1500, as well as a straight forward edit of the {{FA|#}} template.
This is a more complicated and time consuming change, but removes the misidentification of the start of the First Age and informs the reader which 'Age' it is:
Template where First Age starts at what is currently listed as Y.T. 1050, no separation on what is a Valian Year and what is a Year of the Sun. This template requires changing all links to pages between Y.T. 1050 and F.A. 590.
