Elphir was the twenty-third Prince of Dol Amroth.[1]
History
Elphir was the oldest son of the four children of Imrahil. He was born in T.A. 2987, and was already a man by the time of the War of the Ring, but no feat of his was recorded. He had two brothers, Erchirion and Amrothos, and a sister, Lothíriel.[2]
After his death in Fo.A. 67, he was succeeded by his son Alphros.[1]
Etymology
Elphir seems to be a Sindarin name. Its meaning is not glossed, but it seems to mean "Lord of Swans" and to be a combination of the plural e(i)lph of alph ("swan") and hîr ("lord").[3]
