• 1958 - J.R.R. Tolkien writes Letter 213.
• 1960 - J.R.R. Tolkien seeks (through his secretary Elisabeth Lumsden) to publish "a sort of satirical fantasy") believed to be The End of Bovadium in the magazine Time and Tide.
• 2003 - RingCon III in Tacoma, Washington.
• 2005 - The Tolkien Ensemble publish their fourth album, Leaving Rivendell.
