• 1984 - The Book of Lost Tales Part One is published in the US.
• 2004 - At the 10th Screen Actors Guild Awards, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King wins the award for "Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture". The award is accepted by Bernard Hill.
