Balbo Baggins was a Hobbit of the Shire, and the first known member of the Baggins Family.
History[edit]
Balbo was born when the Shire was recovering from both the Days of Dearth where Gandalf came to the aid of the Hobbits.[1]
Balbo was the original patriarch of the Baggins Family, being the first recorded member of the respected family of Hobbits. He married Berylla Boffin and their children were Mungo, Pansy, Ponto, Largo and Lily.[2] Balbo was the great-grandfather of Bilbo Baggins, the great-great-grandfather of Frodo Baggins, and the great-great-great-grandfather of both Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took.[3]
