Beleth (born F.A. 417) was the eldest child and only daughter of Bregolas.
History[edit]
Beleth was two years older than her elder brother Baragund and four years older than her younger brother Belegund. After the Dagor Bragollach, most women and children of the house of Bëor were forced to flee Dorthonion. No tales relate the fate of Beleth; her brothers fell with their uncle Barahir when their band of outlaws was betrayed.[1] Through her father Bregolas, Beleth was the cousin of the renowned Beren the One-handed.
Beleth's remote descendant in the Second Age was Beregar, father of Erendis.[2] Hence, it is assumed that Beleth was married and had descendants from her unknown children.
Genealogy[edit]
Other versions of the legendarium[edit]
In an early version of the House of Bëor, Beleth was the daughter of Boron and thus aunt to Bregor. In the last revision to the genealogy Beleth was moved down three generations.[2]
