Erchirion was the second son of Imrahil.
Erchirion was Imrahil's second child. He had an older brother, Elphir, and younger siblings Amrothos and Lothíriel.
The name is probably derived from ar- hîr (both meaning "noble lord") plus the frequent ending -ion "son of".
Alternatively, it could also derive from er-cirion meaning "lone shipman".
