Fourth Age 34
From Tolkien Gateway
Fourth Age 34 (abbreviated to Fo.A. 34 or F.O. 34) is the 34th year of the Sun of the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. Unless otherwise stated, Tolkien Gateway follows Shire usage in Appendix B for reckoning Fourth Age years: Fourth Age 34 was also known as S.R. 1455 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
Mid-year's Day[edit | edit source]
- Samwise Gamgee is elected Mayor of Michel Delving for the fifth time.[1]
Within the Year[edit | edit source]
- Death of Imrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth.[2]
- Elphir, son of Imrahil, becomes the twenty-third Prince of Dol Amroth.[2]
Other versions of the legendarium[edit | edit source]
In earlier editions of The Lord of the Rings, Appendix B gives this as the year when Fastred of Greenholm became Warden of Westmarch and relocated to the Undertowers. In the 50th Anniversary Edition this event happened in S.R. 1462.
