Needlehole was a town in the Westfarthing near the border of the Northfarthing in the Shire. The Water flowed through the town on its way south to Rushock Bog.[1]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Needlehole is also the name of a village in Gloucestershire. Apart from the apparent meaning of the name, it might also refer to hobbit-holes.[2]
Portrayal in adaptations[edit | edit source]
2007: The Lord of the Rings Online:
- Needlehole lies directly to the north of the Rushock Bog. Its hobbit inhabitants are the ones most used to seeing dwarves in the Shire, as Needlehole lies directly on the road leadin to Thorin's Halls in Ered Luin.
