In the Foreword of The End of Bovadium,[1], Doctor Sarevelk labeled the Vastians who dwelt north of the Via Maxima[2] in Bovadium as B-people since they were the speakers of Language B.[3] In Fragment II of the text, the B-people[3] are referred to as Northerners. During the takeover of the city by the Motores, the Northerners became jealous after finding out that the Southerners were still able to enjoy a peace free from the Motores. Because the Northerners thought that the Southerners should share their misery, they proposed to the Minister that a new road should be built "through the southern meadows" to free up the Via Maxima from the Traffic Problem. The Minister choose not to do anything proposed by the Northerners or the Southerners and would have proceeded with his own plan had he not gotten trapped in the Capital City. The debate of the Northerners and the Southerners never reached a resolution because they were all "slain by the poisonous fumes" of the Motores.[2]
In a related poem, the Northerners are referred to as the North-folk and North-men.[4]
