Walda (Third Age 2780 – 2851, aged 71 years) was the twelfth King of Rohan.
History[edit]
Walda was the son of Brytta Léofa. He served in his father's army fighting off the Orcs which had attempted to invade Rohan during Brytta's reign.
He became king after the death of his father in T.A. 2842 and at the time of his coronation it was believed Rohan had been freed of them. However, some Orcs remained, and in 2851 after ruling just nine years he was killed by an Orc in the mountains near Dunharrow. His son Folca succeeded and avenged him.[1]
Etymology[edit]
Walda is derived from the Old English name wealda, which means "ruler".[2]
