Carnil
From Tolkien Gateway
Carnil was a bright red star[1] created by Varda in preparation for the coming of the Elves.[2] Actually, this "star" is the planet Mars.[3]
Etymology[edit]
Carnil is probably Quenya for "Red Star", by Paul Strack explains, being a compound of carnë ("red") + el ("star").[4]
