Etymology[edit | edit source]
The name Miaulë, described by Christopher Tolkien as "engagingly Elvish-feline" (together with Miaugion and Meoita), is according to Patrick H. Wynne and Christopher Gilson likely cognate with Gnomish miaulin ("she-cat").
