Discrepancies
Y.T. 1330
Tolkien also considered YT 1320 for the first year of Orcs in Beleriand.[1.50]
Y.T. 1490
In the Annals of Aman and the first phase of the Later Quenta Silmarillion, his exile is written as twenty years.[1.59][14]
Notes
- ↑ One Valian Year is equal to 9.582 solar years.
- ↑ Tolkien calculated this birthyear under a later assumptions that the Crossing of the Ice occurred entirely within Y.T. 1496, rather than ending in Y.T. 1500, and that one Valian Year equaled 144 solar years. (Had the previous chronology been left intact, he would have calculated a birthyear of Y.T. 1483.)
